4G Calling lets you make calls over 4G which means you have clearer calls.
Both WiFi and 4G Calling was originally only available on an iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge customers on SIM Only, Pay Monthly and business tariffs but now O2 have migrated the service code access all customers should now expect the migration to be completed by 20 June.
Apple are already in the process of sending out 4G calling setting for the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus and SE. You can expect to be prompted to accept this which will automatically allow 4G calling to be enabled.
WiFi calling needs to be manually changed on the device by going to Settings > Phone > WiFi Calling. Make sure WiFi Calling is set to on.
- In order to use the WiFi and 4G Calling you will need to ensure the following has been done:
- Install iOS 10.3 from iTunes
- Ensure you have the latest device carrier settings – Settings > General > About > Update settings
WiFi and 4G Calling is enabled in the handset settings
Connected with the WiFi and 4G Calling service code.
What to expect?
With an eligible device you will be able to start a call over the WiFi in the office or home and when you step outside you will move onto the 4G network seamlessly (you can check this with the O2 coverage checker)

No extra charges
All calls are included as part of your tariff allowance, any out of tariff calls will be charged at your standard rate.
Once you’re connected to a WiFi network or you’ve got a 4G signal you will automatically use WiFi and 4G Calling.
Using WiFi and 4G Calling
You won’t be able to use this if you are already using other services such as Tu Go, O2 Just Call Me, Mobex or Mobile Recording. You will need to remove them in order to use the WiFi and 4G Calling which we can arrange for you. Contact Us.
