New security exploit could hit ANY Wi-Fi enabled device - how do you protect yourself?

Summary

You may have heard the Wi-Fi connections of business and homes around the world are all at risk of being hacked. It concerns an authentication system which is widely used to secure all wireless connections.

The issues can be resolved through straight forward software updates of which Windows have already released. In the next coming weeks Android and iOS will all have updates available.

The US Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Cert) has issued a warning as they have become aware of several key management vulnerabilities in the four way handshake of Wi-Fi protected access II (WPA2) security.

The reports suggests an attack is relatively easy to launch and will leave the majority of Wi-Fi connects at risk until vendors of routers can issue patches.

The issues can be resolved through straight forward software updates of which Windows have already released. In the next coming weeks Android and iOS will all have updates available.
