Helping create employable talent to bridge the digital skills gap is something we are very proud of at Vivio, so we’re delighted to be able sponsor these places for Bristol residents.
Digital education providers Code Nation have created a virtual learning environment that provides fast-track routes into the industry, creating a work-ready supply of talent.
Since lockdown, there has been a heavier reliance on technology given the digital transformation in the wake of COVID-19. There has never been more people working from home, businesses have been forced to adjust existing processes and digital infrastructure has become paramount. As such, the demand for software developers remains strong, if not stronger than ever before.
The partnership between Code Nation and City of Bristol College will begin virtually, whilst in lockdown, starting with two 1-day Vivio sponsored courses on May 14th and 20th 2020.
Code Nation’s CEO Andy Lord comments, “we’ve always had the South West on our radar and we’re delighted to have partnered with City of Bristol College to create a space to train the region’s next generation of digital talent. Bristol sees more and more individuals moving here to find work with their impressive digital employers – as well as being home to two billion-dollar tech firms”.
The aim of the 1-day courses is to introduce people to the possibilities that come along with coding and inspire them to progress further with their newfound passion. If you think you’re up to the challenge, the course is aimed at anyone who wants to learn something new or stay busy during lockdown or maybe even put forward to your employer if you’ve been furloughed. All you need is a laptop and a webcam – no prior coding experience needed.
