Here at Vivio we have always taken an active role in sponsoring and supporting both local and nationwide charities. So we had no hesitation in sponsoring this amazing charity when we were contacted by a young gentleman called Alex Staniforth who was planning a “Ride of Britain” cycle over 24 hours from Kelsall to Edinburgh.
Alex completed the challenge and got to Edinburgh in 31 hours. At 24 hours he completed 255 miles, due to the cold weather however he decided to keep going until he reached the 310 miles arriving at his chosen location – Edinburgh Castle at 10pm.
He managed to reach his £20,000 mark for Young Minds which made the whole experience very worthwhile!
Alex’s himself has suffered from depression and anxiety and so has a personal connection with the charity, Young Minds. He has managed to achieve so many goals from his “Climb the UK” which he covered 5000 miles by bike, foot and kayak, Climbing the highest point of all 100 UK counties in 72 days and now completing his “Ride of Britain” a 310 mile bike ride. All his hard work and dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed as he was recently nominated for a Regional Award at the Pride of Britain Awards 2017.
It’s hard not to support such a giving young man and so everyone here at Vivio are all touched by his stories and have been more than happy to help support him in this challenge and any more he may set himself in the future.
Well done Alex!
