The wait is over the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are upgrades to Apples current iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, updating some of the features found on Apples current products.

We all thought the iPhone 8 would be the main new phone however it instead released three smartphones as part of the 10th anniversary.

At the launch Tim Cook said “Our intention has always to create something so magical, powerful and the hardware virtually disappears”

“It was the next step forward for iPhone that will set the path for technology for the next decade”

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is very similar in appearance to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The smaller version has a 4.7 inch screen with the larger phone having a 5.5 inch screen and a dual camera lens on the back.

Glass is a big part of the change with it having it on both the front and back of the device. Reinforced by a laser with welded steel and copper. This will also be water and dust resistant.

Shiller says “the new iPhone will have the most durable glass ever in a smartphone”

Key features:

  • Both the models will have a HD retina display and feature a 12MP camera.
  • The iPhone 8 will come in silver, space grey and blush gold
  • Wireless charging - as with the iPhone X the two new iPhones will come with a wireless charging pad, big enough for you to fit more than one device giving you a better experience.
  • iOS 11 – The new phones will come with the new operating system iOS 11 – which includes hundreds of new features like a redesigned control centre, multitask improvements with the camera, Apple Pay and new safety features.
  • Videos will be shot in the highest quality captured on the smartphone with a better video stabilisation and 4k video and up to 60fps.
